*Sorry- A word or a feeling?*

“Is a Sorry enough?”, she posed a question to herself.

“You say it every time. But I never hear it coming straight from your heart. You say it like a mere word with no feeling of sorry, regret or genuine concern.  You says it because you know my heart will eventually melt. You know I will give in. But how long?”

“Just because I care for you, does not mean that you have got the right to hurt me over and over again. I have tried umpteen times to make you understand. I do understand that sometimes things are not done intentionally. But if someone repeats those things again and again, I doubt if not intentional, it’s not even thoughtful.”

“No! I don’t have anything against you. You are forgiven even before your saying sorry. But forgiveness can’t fill up those gaps which are created afresh every time. It can’t bridge the distances which grow more and more every time.”

“I tried, tried to hear that feeling of sorry in your voice. But I could not, there was only a well practiced in genuine sorry that I could hear.”

“Perhaps it is true that you cannot always be at the giving end of understanding, sometimes you need to be at the receiving end too. Else it  just ends like this.”

“I forgive you and expect you to forgive me too for giving up on you.”

“I choose indifference over grudges; I choose forgiveness over hard feelings; I choose moving on over stagnation; I choose my own growth as well as yours.”

“Sometimes a sorry is not enough to keep going. Sometimes a sorry is not enough to rekindle the extinguishing flame of a relationship.”

Sometimes a sorry is just not enough!
